Attendance Procedures

If you need to pick up your student during the school day:

 

Please have your child bring a signed note to the attendance office when they arrive to school. The note MUST BE HAND-WRITTEN and include the following information:

 

• Student first and last name
• Date and time to be picked up
• Name of person who will be picking up (must be authorized to pick up student - see below)
• Parent/guardian signature
• Parent/guardian phone number

 

Alternatively, a picture of the hand-written early pick-up note may be emailed to sprague@cfisd.net. Typed notes will not be accepted. Please allow a minimum of one hour for us to process the request.

 

The early release note will not excuse any absences for that day. Students will be marked absent by their teachers during the time they are not in attendance.

 

Please send an excuse note and/or doctor's note upon your student's return to school.

 

Parent pick up with or without a note: Cut off time is 2:45 p.m. – NO EXCEPTIONS

 

Emergency contacts may NOT pick up a student without hand-written permission from the parent/guardian. A picture of the hand-written note giving authorization to an emergency contact with an attached photo ID may be emailed to sprague@cfisd.net.

Cypress-Fairbanks I.S.D. Policy states that parents should submit an excuse note to the school attendance office within three days of returning to school.

Excuse notes must include:

• Student Name
• Student I.D. number
• A written statement giving the date and reason for the absence(s)
• Parent/guardian signature
• Parent/guardian phone number

 

Per CFISD policy, we CANNOT accept emails to excuse absences, however, hand-written notes with a parent/guardian’s signature may be scanned and emailed to sprague@cfisd.net. Please include any doctor’s excuse notes that pertain to your student’s absence.

 

Students may also drop off excuse notes at the attendance office upon their return to school.
