Nov. 26, 2024—The Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) named CFISD a 2024 District of Distinction award winner, marking the fourth time the district has earned the prestigious designation. CFISD is among only 96 districts in the state to earn this award.
Nov. 19, 2024—Students from Keith Elementary School, Sprague Middle School and Cypress Park High School earned “Best in Show” in the annual Superintendent Holiday Card Contest, selected from 158 entries across all grade levels.
November and December's Character Trait is Empathy.
Oct. 30, 2024—Nine CFISD middle schools productions placed and were recognized at the CFISD Middle School UIL One-Act Play contest, held Oct. 17, 22 and 25 at the Berry Center.

Oct. 24, 2024—Twenty-three CFISD students have been cast in the Houston Repertoire Ballet’s 26th annual performance of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, featuring professional guest artists Léa Fleytoux as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Jake Roxander as the Cavalier, both of the American Ballet Theatre.
Eleven CFISD music ensembles were named winners of The Foundation of Music Education’s 2024 Mark of Excellence and Citation of Excellence awards in September.
Sprague Middle School sixth grade student Emma Paul is praised by her teachers for being an exemplary and respectful student.

Parents with children enrolled in bilingual or ESL classes at CFISD schools who want to learn English are invited to enroll in district-offered ESL classes for parents. The free classes are offered for three levels of English proficiency: Introduction, Beginner or Intermediate. Registration will take place at the school cafeterias on the first day of class.
